The Minister for Culture and Innovation said last Saturday in Debrecen. Balázs Hankó was attending a meeting of the chairmen of the boards of trustees of university trusts.
“Due to a political dispute between the government and the European Commission, the model-changing universities were excluded from the Horizon programme supporting scientific cooperation, which is why the Hu-rizon programme was launched”, Balázs Hankó said.
The minister said the initiative was a success. Of the 112 applications received, 30 will be supported out of a total of HUF 12 billion.
“There are about thirty applications for university partnerships with top 100 universities, the best universities in the world. I would even say that we have launched with the lead that we have proof that, unlike Brussels, the world and the scientific community of the European Union is counting on Hungarian researchers,” the Minister said.
In Debrecen, until World War II, the university always had a secular supervisor.
“The work of the presbyters was the same as that of the board of trustees now, that is, they oversaw the management and operation of the institution,” Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen ” György Kossa said at a meeting of the chairmen of the university’s trustees.
“Those who work in science, scientists and academics must focus on what they do to strengthen science and increase the value of the dipléomas issued,” he added.
The University of Debrecen’s Green Transition Programme won the grant. It will work with Seoul National University and the University of Florida on driverless vehicle development.
