In September, two groups will be started at the kindergarten of the Bárczi Gusztáv Institute for Therapeutic Pedagogy.
At the Debrecen School District Centre, the holiday is also about carrying out due and timely modernisation work on the buildings of the institutions.
During this year’s break, one of the most important renovations will take place at Bárczi Gusztáv Unified Methodological Institute, Primary School, Skills Development School and College in Debrecen with a kindergarten unit added to the institution for children with moderate intellectual disabilities (intellectual disabilities) and children with autism spectrum disorder.
The use of dormitory places in the institution has recently decreased, so the kindergarten unit is being set up in the vacated part of the building with its own budget. The group rooms will require carpentry, electrical installation, painting, toilet refurbishment, and the installation of protective coverings and railings. This September, two kindergarten groups will start with nine to nine children.
“Most of these children have never been in the community before, and come to us from early development or from home. People with autism spectrum disorder have a particular impairment of social and social skills, and it will be a big task and challenge to get these children accustomed to the community,” Director of the institution Anikó Kovács pointed out.
All the institutions under the maintenance of the Debrecen School District Centre are cleaned and painted.During the summer break, almost 17 thousand square metres of wall surfaces will be painted with the material and the paint provided by the Debrecen School District Centre.
Interestingly, thanks to the work of the technical staff, more than 10,000 metres of fencing will be painted, using 1,888 litres of paint.
“It is very important that by the time the new school year starts, our children will have cleaned and tidy institutions,” Director of the Debrecen School District Centre László Türk said.
For the maintainer, it is important that the children feel comfortable at school, and that the material conditions must be in place. In several institutions, the school year starts in September so that the children will be able to enjoy new playground elements, which will also be installed in the institutions during the holidays.
