April 11 is Debrecen City Day. Every year on this day, the city celebrates the fact that on April 11, 1693, King Lipót I of Hungary granted Debrecen the charter that declared Debrecen a free royal city.
There are special programs on this day, museums exhibition, city guided walks, Modem art center events.
