Hanoch Levin (1943-1999), a prominent Israeli dramatic writer, excelled in satirical cabaret, exposing the ineptitude of common people in life’s twists and turns. His famous play, Jákobi and Lájdentál, incorporated trivialities into the friendship of two title characters, including envy, jealousy, desire for something different, and a bizarre love triangle.
