Screening of “Youth” in Original Language at Apollo Cinema

Free film club organised by BIKSZ (Imre Bán Cultural Studies College), Apollo Cinema and Mozinet awaits the audience for the screening of Italian-Swiss-English French co-production Youth (2015) by Paolo Sorrentino on the 13th of March from 6.00 p.m.

The film will be screened in the original language with Hungarian subtitles, and after the screening university lecturer and film aesthete Anna Kata Váró and philosopher and journalist Csaba Gaál, will discuss the film with the audience. The screening is free but registration is required at this link.

The organisers ask if someone has registered, but for some reason cannot go to the event, cancel their registration in time so that others can get a seat.

In Paolo Sorrentino’s stunning follow-up to Fellini’s Oscar-winning The Great Beauty, which takes us to Rome, a luxury hotel in the Alps is the setting for the retired world-famous composer and conductor Fred (two-time Oscar winner Sir Michael Caine) and his best friend, filmmaker Mick (Harvey Keitel). Fred is intrigued by the other guests at the hotel, the problems of his daughter (Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz) and the young and ambitious writers with whom Mick is working on a script. His own musical career is over, but from the highest level he is asked to conduct once more as he receives an invitation from Queen Elizabeth II herself to perform at Prince Philip’s birthday party which he declines immediately, but the royal family proves steadfast.
