Orientation in the sky? Numismatic adventures, scientists on coins? We can get answers to everything at the events of the Magnitude Astronomical Association. The Magnitude Astronomy Association of Debrecen welcomes all those interested in astronomy and space research every Thursday from 5:00 p.m. The lectures are scientific but accessible to everyone, with projections and free admission. On Thursday, 27 February at 5:00 p.m. Gergő Nagy, the collection manager of the Ferenc Kölcsey Memorial House and Álmosd Exhibition Centre in Álmosd, will hold a lecture with projection in the cinema room of the DEMKI Újkerti Community House (Debrecen, 17 Jerikó Street). The programme will also include a small mini-exhibition with numismatic curiosities. On Thursday 6 March, from 5.30 p.m., an astronomy programme with a projection and a small planetarium presentation will be held at the same place. This will be followed by an open-air telescope and laser demonstration on the top of the nearby Újkerti sledge hill after dark on clear days. On the 27th of February, MCC Debrecen Educational Center will present a lecture in German on a current topic, titled "Political Turmoil in Germany - Who will be Germany's new Chancellor?" Description: With the fall of the three-party coalition government led by Olaf Scholz in November, Germany is facing a new political era: on the 23rd of February 2025, after 20 years, early Bundestag elections are being held in the country, which could be decisive for Europe. The 3rd of March has been World Wildlife Day for more than a decade, a highlight of conservation that raises awareness to the diversity, invaluable value of wildlife, and the threatening dangers they posed and the urgent importance of protecting them.  On the 2rd of March, 1973 CITES, the Washington Convention regulating the international trade in endangered wild animals and plants, was adopted and in 2013 the UN General Assembly decided to declare this anniversary a significant day for nature conservation. For the third time, the “Cívis Retro Computer Meeting” is waiting for interested parties at the Méliusz Central Library, organised by the Cívis Microclub. On 1 March, visitors can play all day long on a variety of retro computers and consoles (Commodore, Sega, Nintendo, Sony Playstation, etc.). “Enterprising” children and adults can compete in the Commodore 64 Wizard of Wor tournament.  In the afternoon, visitors can watch presentations and spectacular programmes, demos and animations on the projector.
