On the 28th of  June, Debrecen Creative Community organises an International Street Festival. Food, drinks, dance, music, children's activities, sports activities from many, many countries around the world await visitors at the event. Within the framework of the street festival, the "OTT-HOME. International Meeting Point", a place where internationals and locals can meet will be officially opened. In keeping with the tradition of recent years, Debrecen Zoo  is organising the Evening Walks every week during the summer break. Visitors will see first-hand how iconic residents such as puffins, Nile hippos and giraffes spend the end of the day, as well as the night-time raids of large carnivores and the many special features of the Palm House. The exclusive all-night programme will include a snack to match the occasion and alcoholic or non-alcoholic refreshments on the Samburu panoramic terrace. This unique experience will be offered 9 times between the 28th of June and the 23rd of August, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available, 30 tickets per walk can be purchased online in advance for HUF 6800, and a further 10 tickets are available on site for HUF 7800 each occasion.   Date: 28 June- 23 August Location: Debrecen Zoo   Source:dehir.hu

Lavender garden in Létavértes is opening their gate for the 12th time. The lavender  garden is  waiting for the lovers of French and English lavender on Saturday the 29th of  June from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday the 30th of June from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitors can see a dark purple and light purple “carpet”made of nearly 10,000 lavender stems on the hillside. The flowering bushes will be made public, so guests can take part in the harvest with a “Pick yourself” action, fill up a harvest bag you can buy on site and take it home. You can browse through lavender products, surprise your loved ones with our fragrance pillows, and local artisans and farmers will also be selling their wares on and around the site. This year's International Military Music Festival will be awaiting its audience in Debrecen's main square with spectacular performances by ten foreign and two Hungarian companies between the 3rd  and the 6th of July. Hungary will be represented by the Hungarian Defence Forces Debrecen Garrison Orchestra and the Hungarian Defence Forces Central Orchestra, while the international line-up will include the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, the Netherlands, Italy, Egypt, Romania and Poland. The festival is organised every two years by the Ministry of Defence and the Municipality of Debrecen, and this year with almost 600 musicians participating. Few people know that the roots of this celebration of our historical heritage go back to the 1848-49 Revolution and War of Independence, when the horn and drum musicians of the newly formed armies played an important role in inspiring the newly formed armies to fight. And the military bands were everywhere, where they could pour hope and faith into the fighting soldiers and the civilian population. During the first weekend in July,  a short guided tour will be organised to get to know these fascinating ungulates, to learn about the history, lifestyle, behaviour of these fascinating animals and other wildlife in the park.  The dates of the guided tours:6-7 July: 11.00 a.m.  and 1.00 p.m. An optional programme of the wildlife park is also the extra safari by jeep, during which you can visit the pasture of the harem of wild horses and  reconstructed ancient bulllocks.
