Fundraising at the Zoo will take place again at the end of November

Guests can be part of the planting of the “Caring Tree”, which will be placed in the park as a symbol of togetherness and care.

For the third time, one of the most magical times of the year, on the 30th of November this year, the Donation Zoo day will be held. The aim of the event  is to ensure that the Zoo, which takes care of more than 1,000 animals throughout the year, provides as many families and communities as possible with the opportunity to relax and gain experience.

Under the auspices of Deputy Mayor Diána Széles and organised by the Debrecen Charity Board all interested parties can visit Zoo Debrecen with a HUF 300 registration ticket or by purchasing a supporter’s ticket. The Zoo asks its guests to bring tangible donations to the event (perishable food, hygiene products, sweets, children’s books, etc.) which Debrecen Charity Board delivers to those in need.

This year’s special feature of the event is the series of intimate, festive programs. Guests can be part of the planting of the “Caring Tree”, which will be placed in the park as a symbol of togetherness and care.

Creative visitors can make handmade ornaments in a pleasant environment. In addition, a pony ride, a fabulous roaming game and a “soul-warming” conversation point await those looking for winter experiences with hot tea, frothy cocoa and sweet snacks.

On Sunday, the 1st of December, Santa will once again visit one of his favorite parks, Zoo Debrecen, to bring smiles not only to the residents of the Zoo, but also to the visitors. The doors of the festive Santa’s House are wide open, where Santa gladly welcomes visitors, who can greet him with poems, songs, or even kind wishes accompanied by intimate photos.

The other experiences of the day will be enriched by the paper theater performance “The Tale of Santa Claus” and the “In Search of Santa Claus” search game.

The festive event is further enhanced by the fact that guests can get involved in giving gifts to the residents of the Zoo as part of the Animals in Action program, where Santa brings environmental enrichment tools and delicious snacks, while the zoo employees tell stories about the daily lives of the animals living here.

All program elements can be visited free of charge with a zoo ticket. Of course, all those who want to contribute to the development of the institution and the well-being of its residents will have the opportunity to renew their annual pass at a discount and to adopt their favorite animal in addition to redeeming the supporter’s ticket.
