Local government, professional organisations and local businesses have strengthened their links.
What are the most influential economic trends in Debrecen today and what can we expect in the future? How are labour market trends developing? How will we meet sustainability expectations? These were some of the questions addressed at the inaugural professional day of the Debrecen Regional Supply Chain Platform.
The joint declaration of the platform was signed by the representatives of the Municipality of Debrecen, EDC Debrecen City and Economic Development Centre, the Hajdú-Bihar County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Association of Hungarian Logistics Service Centres, the Hungarian Logistics, Purchasing and Stockholding Association and Trans-Sped Ltd.
As it was said,
“the participants felt the need to strengthen the cohesion between the logistics and procurement managers of the region’s large companies, and for this purpose the platform was founded”.
On their first professional day, in addition to the presentations, they organised a round table discussion on the challenges facing the players in the logistics sector in Debrecen, resulting from the ramp-up of production in new large plants, and also analysed the situation of the local labour market in a round table discussion.
“The official launch of the Debrecen Regional Supply Chain Platform and the first professional day laid the foundations for a new community. It is the beginning of a collaboration between large companies in the region to communicate and think together about emerging supply chain challenges, bringing together logistics and procurement professionals towards a common goal. The creation of the platform is not just an event, but the start of a long-term strategy to keep the economic development of the Debrecen region on a sustainable and competitive path,” founder of Trans-Sped, President of the Association of Hungarian Logistics Service Centres and one of the founding members of the platform Zsolt Fülöp said.
