This year marks the sixth occasion on which Debrecen residents have been gifted a generous meat donation by the Master Good Group
Since 2020—for the sixth year now—the Master Good group of companies has been supporting needy families living in Debrecen with high-value meat donations through the Debrecen Charity Board.
Similar to previous years, this year too the company offered a donation worth HUF 20 million.
On December 1, 2025, at the event marking the arrival of the first shipment, Diána Széles, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen, highlighted the exemplary role of the Bárány family: “The company’s owners are among the families of Debrecen of whom we can be truly proud. For years, they have regularly donated meat worth HUF 20 million to residents in need through the Debrecen Charity Board. This occasion is always festive and inspiring, as while many entrepreneurs and businesses in the city contribute generously, few provide such high‑value, long‑standing support. The Bárány family—where social responsibility has become a tradition passed from one generation to the next—has also supported the outstanding athletes of the Debrecen Sports Centre for many years.”
According to the deputy mayor, the need for patrons remains constant—even as Debrecen’s economy continues to strengthen—since their support enables the local government to expand programs in the spirit of a caring city. She recalled that the city’s “cívis” predecessors also built Debrecen with the help of patrons, successful citizens, and families who considered it their duty to foster community growth, citing the founding of the Déri Museum as an example. Diána Széles further reflected on the spiritual dimensions of Advent, noting that this season places special importance on caring for family members and fellow human beings. She emphasized that such attention is particularly vital for those facing hardship or deprivation, for whom the unity expressed through today’s donation carries a profound and meaningful message.
László Bárány Sr., founder and owner of the Master Good Group, addressed the young people and students who assisted with the donation campaign. He expressed his delight at seeing so many smiling volunteers, noting that they would pass on the Master Good gift packages with the same joy. This marks the sixth year that the company has honored the city of Debrecen with such generosity. Bárány emphasized that his family, as residents of Debrecen, feels a responsibility to give back to the community whenever possible—because, as he put it, “giving with a good heart is always good.” He added that Advent should be seen not only as a time for donations, but also as an opportunity to open hearts and souls.
Edit Bódor, President of the Debrecen Charity Board, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, which—now in its sixth year—has become a reliable cornerstone of the board’s charitable work. She emphasized that this is more than a donation; it is a reminder that a community can only be strong when its members care for one another and act with love. She added that while the donated products may not represent a shortage for the company, their absence would be deeply felt at the tables of many families in need—not only as nourishment, but also as symbols of quality and devoted compassion.
On behalf of the Debrecen Charity Board—celebrating its 10th anniversary this year—Edit Bódor expressed gratitude to the Bárány family and the Master Good Group for their heartfelt support, presenting them with a commemorative card and a symbolic Christmas gift. She emphasized that without donors, the board could not fulfill its mission of helping others.
The donation will be handed over by Master Good in two installments. The first installment (in 2,560 packages) arrived on December 1, 2025, and the second installment will be delivered to the Debrecen Charity Board in January 2026. The packages contain Master Good frozen whole chicken legs and Füstli sausage products.
On December 1, the meat donations were distributed the same day to those in need by staff members of the member organizations of the Debrecen Charity Board: Hungarian Cancer League, “Mosolyvirág” Large Families Debrecen Association, New Health Foundation, Children Public Benefit Association in Haláp, ReFoMix Public Benefit Nonprofit Ltd., “Lelkierő” Youth Helping Youth Association, “Hajrá Futás” Youth and Sports Association, “Forrás” Spiritual Assistance Center, “Héra” Association, Hungarian Reformed Charity Service, EU-Roma National Association, Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Organization, Hungarian Red Cross Hajdú Bihar County Organization, Northern Great Plain Regional Association of the Visually Impaired, Bihar State Caregiver Association, Hajdúdorog Archdiocese, Debrecen Civil Guard Association for the “Cívis” City, “Lepéselőny” Public Benefit Association, “Gyermekremény” Foundation. In addition to them, the DMJV Family and Child Welfare Center is also involved in delivering the packages. The donation packages will be given to those in need who are connected to one of the listed organizations and institutions.
On December 1, students from the institutions of the Debrecen Vocational Training Center (Debrecen SZC Baross Gábor Technical School, Vocational School and Dormitory, Debrecen SZC Construction Technology and Engineering Vocational School, Debrecen SZC Creative Technical School, and Debrecen SZC Commercial and Hospitality Technical and Vocational School) also helped in packing the packages.
