A fabulous mural is being created at the Babits Street kindergarten
A special 10 x 3-metre mural is being created on the wall of the Babits Street kindergarten yard.
This spectacular splash of colour will reflect the children’s creativity and also enhance the community experience.
The project started with the active participation of the kindergarteners. During preliminary discussions, each child was able to identify their favourite animal. Based on these, several visual designs were created. The final version was selected through community voting, which involved children attending the kindergarten, their parents, and kindergarten teachers, thereby allowing for artistic freedom among the creators. The 12th-grade decorator students of the Creative Technical School at the Debrecen Vocational Training Centre created a fabulous piece. Donations provided the necessary tools and materials.
Deputy Mayor Diána Széles said that it is heartwarming to see Debrecen, a caring city, set another example of cooperation. True community work can be fostered through the coordination of local government.
The paint was provided by PPG Trilak Kft. and NTL Üzletház to the kindergarten. Decorator students of the Creative Technical School of the Debrecen Vocational Training Centre participate in the creation of the work. This project offers them an excellent opportunity to utilise their talents and develop their professional knowledge in real-world settings as part of their summer internship. The yard of the Babits Street kindergarten will soon be guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of every young child.
The municipal representative of the district, Erzsébet Katona, added that the goal is to let children see the world through their eyes and to show them how community work can become an experience that creates lasting value.
The colourful community mural will be waiting for the little ones on the wall of the institution’s yard when kindergarten starts in September.
