Date Announced for Debrecen Blue Walk 2026 with World Autism Awareness Day Approaching
The Autism in the Family Debrecen Association will organise the 7th Debrecen Blue Walk on 7 April to mark World Autism Awareness Day (2 April), highlighting the needs of people living with autism to society and the community, thereby promoting understanding, acceptance and awareness.
As the organisers note, the event’s chief patron is Mayor László Papp, and the event is being held with the support of DEMKI Ifjúsági Ház Debrecen.
Programme:
Assembly at 9:45 at 74 Egyetem Avenue (after the roundabout opposite the university’s main building), on Sestakert Street.
The walk begins at 10:00, with safety supported by the Traffic Policing Department of the Debrecen Police Headquarters and activists from the Debreceni Polgárőr Egyesület a Cívis Városért.
At 11:00, a group photo will take place in the courtyard of the Youth House, followed by welcome speeches in the first-floor Great Hall.
During the breaks between the musical and dance performances, there will be an opportunity to apply for an AOSZ card. From 13:00, the Debreceni Autizmus Centrum will present itself, with guests Otíllia Cseke Peltekianné, clinical psychologist and founder of the DAC, and Edit Ujvári, a clinical psychologist who worked at the Autism Specialist Outpatient Clinic until her retirement.
The full programme will run until 14:30.
