Deeprecen begins its fourth season, kicking off with a new location
Launched in September 2022, Deeprecen has grown into one of Debrecen’s boldest underground music initiatives. Now entering its fourth season, the series kicks off with a fresh location and the same electrifying spirit that has defined it from the start.
Organized by Bence Rózsavölgyi and Krisztina Szabó, Deeprecen was created to spotlight underground bands and performers—both local and from across Hungary—whose music deserves to be heard above ground. Over the past three years, the series has hosted around fifty bands, with the DESZ club on Batthyány Street serving as its original home.
This year, the concerts will move to a new venue: Stage Club Underground (formerly SIKK Club) at 1 Domb Street, offering better acoustics, a built-in bar, and more space for the growing audience. The organizers expressed their gratitude to the Ready for Debrecen team for making this transition possible and supporting the series with welcoming conditions.
The fourth season begins on Saturday, September 6, at 7:00 p.m., marking the 32nd Deeprecen night. Fittingly, the opening concert features Mad Robots, the band that helped launch the series in 2022. Joining them are Slowmesh from Budapest and Gate69 from Debrecen, who recently debuted a powerful new EP at Deeprecen in the spring.
Concerts remain free of charge, in the hope of continued donations from the honorarium. The goal is to keep the music accessible, build a strong underground community, and introduce audiences to both emerging and established acts.
So the stage is set, the bands are ready, and all that’s left is for you to take your place at Stage Club Underground.
