District heating pipeline failure in the Great Forest causes heating outage on Tuesday

On Thursday, paving stones subsided in front of the entrance to the Aquaticum Mediterranean Aqua Park, and it was revealed that the district heating pipeline had been damaged. The company commissioned by Debreceni Hőszolgáltató Zrt. will begin excavation work on Monday.

From 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday, district heating will be unavailable at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen, Prémium Residence, and the Thermal Bath. The Aqua Park operates with geothermal energy, so it will not be affected by the service interruption.

Service is expected to be restored by Tuesday afternoon. However, repair activities will continue until next Thursday, but these are not anticipated to cause further interruptions to district heating.

The pipeline had been inspected before the heating season, and at that time there were no signs of problems in this section.
