Location
Apollo CinemaFor the third time, the Debrecen Jewish Community and the Apollo Cinema are organizing the Jewish Film Festival, which over the past three years has grown into a major cultural event in the city of Debrecen.
The program of the 3rd Jewish Film Festival includes films selected based on audience requests and the traditions of Jewish filmmaking. The Apolló Cinema presents works that not only follow international premieres but are also valuable and significant in world cinema. As in previous years, this year’s selection focuses on themes related to the Holocaust, the everyday life and traditions of Hungarian Jewry.
During the three‑day event, the films will convey the values of Jewish religion and culture in a meaningful way, while providing real insight into events affecting Hungarian Jewry. Both international and Hungarian feature films and documentaries will be screened.
This year’s guest of honor will be actor, writer, and poet Géza Röhrig. Admission to the films is free but requires registration.
