Kossuth SquareStep into a winter wonderland and glide gracefully across the ice beneath sparkling festive lights, right in the heart of the Debrecen!
The Advent Ice Rink first came to life in 2021, dazzling Debrecen’s Christmas fair with something truly special: a sweeping 750‑square‑meter ice surface and a 120‑meter corridor, the very first of its kind in Eastern Hungary.
What began as a festive experiment quickly grew into a beloved tradition. Each winter, families return to relive childhood joy, couples glide hand‑in‑hand beneath the lights, and visitors discover the warmth of Debrecen’s holiday spirit.
Today, the rink is far more than frozen water — it’s the sparkling heart of the city’s Advent celebrations, a place where laughter, community, and magic come together on the ice.
This year the ice rink’s eagerly awaited opening date for many is November 22, 9:00 a.m.!
