Experience the Nighttime Panorama of Debrecen, Centuries-Old Bell Towers, and the Unique Kiszel Organ at the Kistemplom During Carnival Week!
Visitors to the Small Reformed Church can enjoy an array of unique experiences: breathtaking aerial views of Debrecen’s illuminated skyline, the medieval atmosphere of its centuries-old bell towers, the original-condition Kiszel organ’s exceptional sound, and special presentations revealing the secrets of the “Csonkatemplom”.
Opening Hours During the Carnival Week
- August 15–16 (Friday–Saturday): 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- August 17 (Sunday): 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- August 18–20 (Monday–Wednesday): 9:00 a.m. – Midnight (except August 20, it opens at 8:00 a.m.)

August 15–17:
- Full price: 1500 HUF
- Student/Senior: 1200 HUF
- Family ticket (2 adults + up to 3 children): 4000 HUF
August 18–20:
- Full-day ticket: 2000 HUF
- Student/Senior day ticket: 1500 HUF
- Family day ticket (2 adults + up to 3 children): 5000 HUF

August 18 (Monday)
- 9:00 a.m.: Continuous Tower Tours
- 4:00 p.m.: Alföldi „Szellemes” Városjárás – Special Flower Carnival Edition – 1.5-hour guided walk starting at the Kistemplom revealing the history and curiosities of Debrecen, including: – the origins of the “Debrecen Republic” and the city of the “Dózsák”,
- – the secrets of the old Debrecen flower language and symbolism of flowers on the Great Plain,
- – the “haunted houses” of Debrecen?,
- – Csokonai’s apocalyptic prophecies?,
- – meeting places of Freemasons and Templars in the “City of Permanence”?.

- 6:00 p.m.: Fiori musicali – Early evening, half an hour organ concert, performed by Dr. Dániel Sárosi, organist
- 7:00–11:00 p.m.: Night Tower Tours departing hourly with guided tours
August 19 (Tuesday)
- 9:00 a.m.: Continuous Tower Tours
- 10:00 a.m.: “On the Big Screen: The Kistemplom” – Animated local history film about the Kistemplom and Ispotályi Church
- 11:00 a.m.: Secrets of the Csonkatemplom – Architectural and historical walking tour about:
Why is the church “half-done”? What do its architectural elements symbolize? Why is the Csonkatemplom a symbol of rebellion and endurance?
Guide: Máté Horog - 12:00 p.m.: Fiori musicali – Midday Organ Half-Hour at Kistemplom
- 3:00 p.m.: Repeat of the animated local history film
- 4:00 p.m.: Alföldi „Szellemes” Városjárás – Flower Carnival Edition (see Aug 18)
- 6:00 p.m.: Fiori musicali – Early evening, half an hour organ concert, performed by Gergő Csorba, organist
- 7:00–11:00 p.m.: Night Tower Tours departing hourly with guided tours
August 20 (Wednesday)
- 8:00 a.m. –10:00 a.m.: Viewing of the Carnival Parade from the Kistemplom Tower
Please bring warm and waterproof clothing in case of bad weather. The top level of the tower is uncovered and seating is limited. Covered seating is available in the Fire Watcher’s room below the tower lookout.
Participation fee: 8,000 HUF per person (includes a bottle of mineral water) - 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Continuous Tower Tours
- 7:00 p.m. –11:00 p.m.: Night Tower Tours departing hourly with guided tours
Important Notes
Due to limited capacity, pre-booking is highly recommended for the Night Tower Tours, the Alföldi „Szellemes” Városjárás, and the viewing the Carnival Parade from the tower.
