This year, Debrecen Zoo is once again bringing back its Evening Walks programme that has become a favorite in recent years, with the next occasion awaiting visitors on August 22!

These exclusive, guided evening tours offer a rare opportunity to catch a glimpse into the mysterious nighttime lives of the zoo’s residents, hidden from view during the day. Accompanied by  zoo educators and animal keepers, visitors can learn firsthand how iconic species like the Humboldt penguins, Nile hippos, and reticulated giraffes wind down or just begin to wake up as night falls.

During the programme, guests can discover the garden’s countless secrets under the spell of a summer evening, guided by expert commentary and they will get up close and personal with the most unique animals.

Returning visitors can also look forward to many new features and fresh experiences: get a glimpse of the nocturnal activity of large predators and discover the unique plant and animal life of the Palm House,  revealed in its full beauty only after sunset.

To make the evening even more memorable, visitors can relax at the Samburu Panorama Terrace, where delicious bites and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments await them.

There is no possibility to buy tickets on site, so please make sure to buy your tickets in advance!

The walk starts at 6:30 from the zoo entrance.
