Event Date:
Start at 5:00 PMDecember 2, 2025 - January 31, 2026
Location
Pásti Street SynagougeAll interested parties are invited to the opening of the impressive life’s work exhibition of artist Tamás Léderer at the Pásti Street Orthodox Synagogue.
The life path of the Budapest-born Holocaust survivor is as diverse and rich as his works. Throughout his life, Tamás Léderer lived in very different locations and near different forms of life, which deeply permeates his artistic vision and the human message he presents.
The 87-year-old artist‘s main genres are medals and small sculptures. He makes his sculptures from extremely diverse materials—stone, wood, and wrought iron.
According to his testimony, this complex world can perhaps only be described with abstract forms, so sometimes he creates figurative sculptures and other times other types.
This exhibition not only provides an artistic experience but also gives the visitor the opportunity to learn about the artist’s unique vision, personal history, and those special works in which abstract and figurative forms meet.
The opening ceremony will begin on December 2 at 5.00 pm, which the artist will also participate in.
Those present will be greeted by György Szabó, representative of MAZSÖK, and Tamás Horovitz, president of the Debrecen Jewish Community. The exhibition will be opened by artist Eszter Láng, curator of the Synagogue Gallery.
The special exhibition presenting Tamás Léderer’s oeuvre will be open until January 31, 2026.
