The Debrecen Dino Days will include screenings for children and adults, craft activities, interactive book presentations, experiential painting, lectures and quizzes. For the Dino Days weekend, a wristband is available for HUF 500, which entitles the wristband holder to a discount on the indicated programmes. The wristbands can be requested in person on Friday, the 13th of September, from 3:00, only at the Apollo cinema. By presenting a Dino Days wristband, all cinema-goers can automatically buy tickets at the student/retired/education ticket price for the films, but this type of ticket can only be purchased in person. In the case of other programmes, a 500 HUF discount on the ticket price applies for the following screenings when purchased in person and upon presentation of a wristband. Visitors are invited on a special autumn hike to explore the autumn forest and discover the gifts of nature, accompanied by a pilgrimage and a meditative walk. During the programme, visitors will also have the opportunity to visit and get to know the Mária sanctuary and the old station of the Zsuzsi Forest Railway. During the nature walk they can learn about the fauna and flora of the forest and its importance for landscape conservation. There will be a prayer or meditation session where participants can relax and recharge their batteries. The organisers would like to draw the attention of those interested to the fact that the total length of the hike is 16 kilometres, so it is recommended to wear comfortable closed hiking shoes and closed clothing appropriate to the weather. They also recommend that everyone on the hike should take care to protect themselves from insects and the sun. It is also important that participants bring enough drinking water. In keeping with tradition, this year we will again organise the MagdaFest, named after Hungarian novelist, Magda Szabó, focusing on women artists and fates. The festival, created in honour of Magda Szabó, will be held for the seventh time in 2024. The event will focus on women's creativity, women's role in society, and women as artists. European Bird Watching Days are held on the first weekend of October each year. On the occasion of this event, a joint bird-watching demonstration with the Hungarian Ornithological Society and the Debrecen Biodiversity Centre is organised during which visitors can get to know the birds of the Great Forest up close.  Participation: the event is free of charge for those arriving during the first half hour (until 9:00 a.m.), but the Botanical Garden ticket prices apply for those arriving afterwards. Nature conservation engineer, member of the Green Working Group, Máté Tóth will give the bird ringing demonstration. The programme will be cancelled in case of rain.
