Grandstand Tickets for the Debrecen Flower Carnival Are Now Available
The Debrecen Flower Carnival is one of Hungary’s most iconic and spectacular national celebrations, held each year on 20 August since 1966. At the heart of the festivities is the world-famous flower parade, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from across the country and beyond. More than 1,500 Hungarian and international dancers bring the streets to life, while breathtaking floats decorated with hundreds of thousands of fresh flowers roll through the city in a vibrant celebration of creativity, music and movement.
Ticket sales have begun for the grandstands of this year’s edition, as announced by organiser Főnix Rendezvényszervező. As per tradition, the parade begins near Petőfi Square and proceeds along Piac Street through the historic city centre, following a ceremonial flag-raising and bread blessing in front of the Reformed Great Church. In the evening, illuminated flower floats return in a magical light parade, presenting the carnival in a dazzling new dimension.
In 2026, the carnival once again expands into a week-long festival (18–23 August), filling downtown Debrecen and the Great Forest with concerts, dance performances and family programmes. Highlights include the Galiba Children’s Festival, the Botanica Expo at the Kölcsey Centre, spectacular light projections across the city, and the popular Beer by Lake music and gastronomy event at Lake Békás. The 2026 edition promises colour, community and unforgettable summer celebration for all ages.
Ticket and programme information is available on the official website.
