Major Road Paving Works Have Been Completed On Dugovics Titusz Street

The municipal representative of the area Edina Szilágyi held a press conference on the details on the 17th of July, 2024.

Edina Szilágyi said at the press conference that the asphalting works on Dugovics Titusz Street have been completed, so that motorists can use the 183-metre-long section of the road on a completely renewed pavement.

The representative explained that the asphalting of Dugovics Titusz Street began on the 28th of May with the preparatory works. During the investment, the contractor carried out the cutting of the existing bench, the construction of new curbs, the milling and demolition of the existing old asphalt road, the levelling of the existing utility equipment, and the re-asphalting of the pavements on the road and smaller sections. The development was realised with HUF 33 million from local government funds.

She emphasised that the current renovation also clearly shows that a municipal development can be really successful with the cooperation of the residents. The consultations with the residents were continuous and constructive, as a result, they tried to take everyone’s needs into account in terms of the development of green areas. She added that this work is expected to be completed in September. She also formulated the complete renovation of the sidewalk sections in the street as an important future goal.

She also drew attention to the fact that residents can do a lot for their environment by taking care of the green areas in front of their houses and keeping them in order, as this is one of the primary messages of urban development. The municipality creates the conditions, and the residents enjoy and take care of it.

Edina Szilágyi said that in her constituency, the old and worn-out road surface had been renewed in many sections in recent years. In 2021 Keresszegi Street and Kinizsi Street, Székely Street in 2022, and Apafi Street last year were part of the road renovation and road construction program.
