Médiacentrum Debrecen also joined the school supplies collection campaign
This year’s school supplies collection campaign of the Hungarian Reformed Charity Service is helping 250 primary and secondary school students in Hajdú-Bihar County. The Médiacentrum in Debrecen also joined the campaign launched under the title “Let’s Erase the Differences.” The supported families in Debrecen received the school bags and school supplies on Tuesday.

The children not only received school supplies but also gained insight into the secrets of presenting a program. They learned what a green box is and had the opportunity to experience what it feels like to sit in the presenter’s chair.
“Similar to last year, this year we joined the program and the call of the Hungarian Reformed Charity Service. We endeavored once again to fulfill our goal of embodying the slogan ‘Debrecen, a Caring City’ as a municipal company, which is why we decided to give the children not only school supplies but also an experience that will perhaps last a lifetime, ” the managing director of the Media Center Debrecen, Ádám Imre Kovács, highlighted.
The Hungarian Reformed Charity Service launched its national school supplies collection campaign in mid-July under the title “Let’s Erase the Differences.” The donations are a great help to families in need.
The start of the school year is a headache for many families. Purchasing school supplies costs tens of thousands of forints per child, which is a serious financial burden for families living in extreme poverty.
“For families with several children or who have to live on one salary, this would be an extremely large financial burden, and they are very grateful to the charity for taking this burden off their shoulders. Thanks to the donations, they receive almost all the products and only have to buy the small accessories themselves,” communications manager of the Hungarian Reformed Charity Zsófia Dobis-Lucski emphasized.
The collected school supplies have been distributed to approximately 1,700 primary and secondary school students throughout the Carpathian Basin.
