More than two hundred students from Debrecen got a glimpse into the world of multinational companies
“The Debrecen BSC Roundtable’s career orientation programme series entitled “Sneak Peek into Multinationals” aims to provide high school and university students with a closer look at the operation, career opportunities and everyday life of business service centers. More than two hundred participants from the Debrecen School District Centre and the Debrecen Vocational Training Centre joined the spring event of the event series,” the roundtable announced.
The companies first opened their doors to students from the University of Debrecen, who were able to personally visit major domestic and international companies. During the visits, participants were able to participate in an interactive programme, gaining first-hand experience of the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the competitive world.
Following the university round, high school students also had the opportunity to get to know the member companies of the Debrecen BSC Roundtable up close – which brings together such influential companies as 4iG, BT, DIEHL Aviation, Flowserve, NI and Transcosmos.
The young people were able to see up close what tasks the employees of the companies encounter, and through personal experiences they were able to discover the most suitable career paths for them, meet the company’s specialists and get answers to their questions regarding future career paths.
Representing Diehl Aviation, Zsuzsanna Polonkainé Angalet said that the students really enjoyed the open day, actively asked questions, and the aircraft simulator was also a great success.
“We consider it important that young people get a credible picture of the opportunities that await them in the world of work as soon as possible, even before choosing a career. The Sneak Peek programme serves this purpose, in a direct, experiential way,” Project manager of the Debrecen BSC Roundtable,” Éva Kissné Nyéki emphasised.
The “Sneak Peek into Multinationals” programme will continue in the fall, and the organisers’ goal is to provide even more young people with the opportunity for experience-based career guidance.
