Online supplier platform has been created for companies in Debrecen

The management of the City of Debrecen—in cooperation with the staff of EDC Debrecen—is working to encourage and facilitate the development of business relationships between local businesses as much as possible. The press conference on the online supplier database created in this spirit and the regional supplier forum in October was held by Dr. Lajos Barcsa, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen; Dr. Éva Skultéti, Secretary General of the Hajdú-Bihar County Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Zoltán Pécskay, Managing Director of EDC Debrecen; Dr. Zoltán Kocsis, Managing Director of Krones Hungary Kft. and Viktor Vántus Jr., Managing Director of Intramark Kft., on September 2, 2025, at the City Hall.

As the next step in its long-term efforts, EDC Debrecen has created an online supplier database, with the aim of making local small and medium-sized enterprises more visible and drawing the attention of large companies already operating in Debrecen or planning to move here, so that they know that there are already many companies in the city that can be considered potential suppliers in both the industrial and service sectors, which, given their maturity, management data, and previous references, can be reliable partners that they can count on in their business activities.

The database is public and accessible to anyone on the investment promotion website operated by EDC, under the Economic Development tab in the Business Development menu, or via the following direct link:https://invest.debrecen.hu/vallalkozasfejlesztes/

Searching the database and appearing in the database as a company, as well as being included, is free of charge. The system is operated by EDC Debrecen on a non-profit basis. The database will be continuously maintained and expanded in the future. The conditions for inclusion are transparent and objective and are based on the historical management and administrative data of the enterprise. The database is available in Hungarian and English. EDC Debrecen is confident that more and more company managers or purchasers will look for local suppliers and business partners through this platform and, of course, independently of it, here in Debrecen as well.

Regional Supplier Forum

In addition to the online networking, similarly to previous years, the Municipality of Debrecen City and EDC Debrecen will organize its supplier forum this fall, expanding it to the regional level this year—in cooperation with the Hajdú-Bihar County Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This year, interested employees of small and large companies are expected at the event not only from Hajdú-Bihar but also from Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties. The date of the event, entitled Northern Great Plain Regional Supplier Forum 2025, is October 9, 2025, and the venue is the Nagyerdei Stadium in Debrecen.

The forum aims to help local small and medium-sized enterprises build supplier relationships with large companies by organizing, in addition to professional programs, specific, personal meetings between the procurement colleagues of these large companies and the SME managers participating in the event.

This year, the event is organized jointly with the Hajdú-Bihar Vármegyei Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of Euroleasing Zrt. and Deloitte Hungary. Diamond Coaching & Development Kft. will assist the organizers in the professional organization of the forum and the preparatory event for SMEs preceding it.

On the morning of the event, similar to previous years, after the opening ceremony, professional presentations and panel discussions will be held on how SMEs can become suppliers and improve their efficiency.
