Restoration work on Külsővásártér continues due to weather conditions

The water pipe failure in Külsővásártér that occurred on July 4, 2025, was repaired by the experts of Debreceni Vízmű Zrt., the local water company.

By the preliminary agreements, the contractor completed the pavement restoration works on the side of Külsővásártér Street leading to the Main Railway Station (Nagyállomás) by Sunday evening.

According to the contractor, water run-off from the burst pipe on the downtown side and extreme rainfall have made it impossible to carry out the earthworks on the downtown side. For this reason, pavement restoration and the return of the area to traffic will only be possible after more favourable weather conditions.

Road users are requested to avoid the affected section during the works and to drive with increased caution on the surrounding streets.
