The excellent cooperation between Debrecen and the Government continues

Debrecen’s water utility and road infrastructure network is further developing with the support of the Government. In the latest issue of the Hungarian Gazette, dated April 7, 2025, the Government decided on several developments affecting Debrecen.

Accordingly, the Government supports:

  • the reconstruction of the sections of Main Road  33 that have not yet been renovated on the section between Bem Square and Highway M35. As part of the development, the pavement will be renewed along a length of nearly 2,900 meters with the necessary structural repairs, and the old street lighting lamps will also be replaced with smart LED lamps on the entire section of nearly 5,600 metres. The funds provided for the development are HUF 1.22 billion.
  • the continuation of the reconstruction of Határ Road, during which the road pavement will be renovated along its entire length with the necessary structural repairs, sidewalk and street lighting construction, and the replacement of the old street lighting lamps with smart LED lamps. The funds provided for this development are HUF 886 million.
  • the environmentally friendly and sustainable operation of the Civaqua programme. The Government provides preparatory funds to the National Water Directorate, from which tender plans for the solar power plant that will help ensure the production of electrical energy required for the operation of the Civaqua programme facilities will be prepared. HUF 50 million has been provided for the preparation and HUF 3.575 billion for the implementation.

In addition, the Government provides funds for the continuation of the existing infrastructural developments of the Debrecen Northwest Economic Zone and the Southern Economic Zone.
