The Farmer Expo will be held at the end of August again this year
This year’s agricultural trade fair will focus on how best to support representatives of the sector.
Last year, more than 250 exhibitors and 22,000 participants attended the Farmer Expo. Organizers expect a similar level of interest this year at the University of Debrecen’s Böszörményi Street Campus.
The 34th Farmer Expo International Agricultural and Food Industry Trade Fair will take place from August 28 to 30.
There will be showcases of animals and machinery, professional forums, and roundtable discussions. The goal is to create opportunities for producers, researchers, veterinarians, decision-makers, and market participants to assess the sector’s challenges jointly. Overall, the industry has suffered damage worth several billion forints.
These weaknesses need to be reviewed and addressed with practical solutions. One part involves identifying the causes, while the other focuses on finding ways to heal the actual losses. “Producers in the sheep sector alone have suffered damage of HUF 1.5 billion,” highlighted András Jávor, Chief Adviser to the Rector of the University of Debrecen.
“We believe this is not just an opportunity but a responsibility and a kind of mission. After serving agriculture for 34 years, we must do our part this year as well to help restore trust in the sector,” László Vaszkó, Director of the Farmer Expo, said.
