The Főnix Folk Dance Ensemble celebrates its 35th anniversary
This year, the Főnix Folk Dance Ensemble celebrates its 35th anniversary.
On this occasion, an anniversary gala performance will be given at the Csokonai National Theatre on December 14, 2025.
The Főnix Folk Dance Ensemble has showcased Hungary at 52 foreign festivals. Sixteen members earned degrees from the University of Dance Arts and remain active as ambassadors of traditional folk culture. In connection with the anniversary, an exhibition titled “The Treasure Chest Opens” was also opened at the Medgyessy Ferenc Grammar School, where those interested can gain insight into the history of the ensemble.
The choice of location is not accidental, as the art vocational secondary school and the Csapókerti Primary School have also been involved in the education of the ensemble’s young talent.
At the exhibition’s opening, Deputy Mayor István Puskás remarked: “The ensemble not only cherishes traditions and preserves the heritage of the past, but is also dedicated to passing this legacy on through the active involvement of young people.”
