Presentation of the ibis Styles Hotel built next to Debrecen International Airport

The city’s development has reached another milestone: a special hotel, named ibis Styles Debrecen Airport Hotel, has been built.

The airport hotel, which is set to open soon with 72 modern rooms and 16 apartments, was presented at the Debrecen Business Leaders’ Meeting. The new hotel is the result of a cooperation between XANGA Group and Accor Group, offering a convenient accommodation option for those travelling by plane due to its proximity to the Debrecen International Airport.

A unique design inspired by aviation characterises the ibis Styles Debrecen Airport. The four-story hotel welcomes guests with 72 comfortable rooms and 16 spacious apartments, catering to a range of needs, from short stays to extended visits.

“We are now opening the first 3-star ibis Styles Hotel in Debrecen, and we look forward to our guests experiencing and feeling this unique technology and design. The Accor Group hotel continues its investments in Eastern Hungary with this 3-star hotel here at Debrecen International Airport,” hotel manager of ibis Styles Debrecen Airport Hotel, Mykola Tumanovskyi, said.

The hotel also features a restaurant, bar, and meeting room, which were showcased at the Debrecen Large Corporate Executives Meeting. According to István Herdon, CEO of XANGA Ventures Fund Management, such new developments are vital due to the significant investments of recent years and the city’s ongoing growth. “It targets a new segment; this 3-star superior category is practically a service hotel. It also fills a gap in its location as it develops the business environment of Debrecen International Airport, and the airport serves as a key gateway to the city, one of the primary indicators of its development. The developments here are significant for the city,” István Herdon pointed out.

At the event, Mayor László Papp stated that Debrecen had experienced the most significant increase in guest nights over the past year. This suggests that real estate developers make informed decisions when initiating this type of development in Debrecen. “The hotel chains that operate accommodation services in Debrecen are located in Budapest or other capitals, perhaps in major Western European cities. We can happily say that Debrecen has caught up with the developed cities in Europe where these hotel chains provide hotel services, and I am confident that the city’s economic development and tourism development are of such a scale that this hotel development will be followed by more in the coming months and years,” the mayor emphasised.

Since the hotel, set to open in early July, is situated directly next to Debrecen International Airport, it also provides ideal accommodation options for business travellers.
