The juncion of Balaton Street and Pásztor Street will be closed across its entire width
The Municipality of Debrecen informs residents and road users that, as part of the city’s investment in modernizing and expanding the municipal sewage network in the southern district, Balaton Street will be fully closed at its junction with Pásztor Street.
The closure will take effect from the start of construction on Monday, December 8, 2025, and remain in place for the duration of the works.
During the utility construction works, bus services No. 14, 14Y, 47, and 47Y will operate on a temporary detour route via Gázvezeték Street – Balaton Street – Téglás Street – Tégláskert Street – Halász Street – Balaton Street – Vadász Street – Tégláskert Street – Téglás Street – Balaton Street – Gázvezeték Street.
Residents living on the streets affected by the investment will still be able to access their homes during the closure period.
Bus services and normal traffic flow at the junction of Balaton Street and Pásztor Street will be restored following the completion of the utility construction works—expected no later than December 23, 2025. By that time, the junction will be reopened to traffic with a temporary pavement restoration, while the final restoration will take place next year under suitable weather conditions.
The primary goal of the development is to provide residents with a reliable, economical, and sustainable service by modernizing and upgrading the sewage network.
The second phase of the development will begin on Monday, January 5, 2026, affecting Pásztor Street, Tégláskert Street (the section between Pásztor Street and Téglás Street), and Téglás Street (the section between Tégláskert Street and Szepesi Street). Following the modernization and upgrading of the utilities, these road sections will receive a completely new pavement across their full width.
