The Uzbek partnership of the University of Debrecen is further built

“The University of Debrecen and the Health and Epidemiological Supervision Department of the General Directorate of Medicine under the jurisdiction of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan have signed a cooperation agreement on drug development, research, quality control and training. Following the signing of the document, the delegation of the Central Asian country visited several university research units,” unideb.hu reported.

The Department of Health and Epidemiology Supervision of the General Medical Directorate under the administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is planning research collaborations with the University of Debrecen in several fields. The supervision department has several research and service laboratories: preventive toxicological, bacteriological, hygienic, radiation safety and physical factor control laboratories.

It plays a leading role in Uzbekistan in these fields. Head of Department Soyibjon Goziev and Consultant Khadjiev Marks were recently received by Rector Zoltán Szilvássy and Coordination and Strategy Director Okszána Kiszil in the Main Building of the University of Debrecen.

The meeting reviewed the details of the planned partnership, with particular attention to bilateral drug research, the development of preparations for the prevention and treatment of the health effects of radioactive contamination, testing laboratory research, accredited conformity assessment recognition procedures and further training of Uzbek specialists.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Rector Zoltán Szilvássy and Head of Department Soyibjon Goziev.

Following the signing, the members of the delegation visited the University of Debrecen’s unique community space, the Turk Corner, created to introduce the cultural heritage and traditions of Central Asian countries, and then got acquainted with the work and infrastructure of the Department of Nuclear Medicine of the Oncoradiology Clinic and the Medical Imaging Clinic in the Clinical Centre.

The Uzbek guests also visited the university’s Science, Technology and Innovation Park on Vezér Street, toured the Innovation Center and received detailed information about the practice-oriented training and research activities at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the associated National Manufacturing-Research-Education Central Plant.

The presentation was given by Dean Ildikó Bácskay and her colleagues.
