Upgrading of the entire length of the Kádár dűlő completed – Ondód access road made safer and more comfortable
As part of the Debrecen2030 programme, the entire length of Kádár dűlő, which connects the Ondód district with Debrecen, has been renovated.
The completion of the 1.5-kilometre section of the road, which is now being upgraded, will complete the multi-phase road upgrading, bringing the total 4.4-kilometre access road to a new level.
Mayor László Papp emphasised at the handover, “As previously promised, 2025 is a priority year for transport development in Debrecen. The local government will also implement several investments this year that were specifically initiated by residents.” He added that one of the fundamental goals of the D2030 city strategy is to make Debrecen visible in every district, with the city’s revenues being recycled for the benefit of the community. The recently completed Ondód access road is a prime example of this.
The investment is significant for Ondód, as this is the only road connecting the district with Debrecen. Regarding the development, the municipal representative of the area, Katona Erzsébet, highlighted, “This road was of central importance to the people of Ondód; this request has been raised at most public reception hours for years.” She added that it is essential for them that the outer districts of the city develop in the same way as the inner areas of Debrecen.
In Ondód, the final stage of the Kádár dűlő road renovation began at the beginning of May with preparatory work. After the worn asphalt layer was removed, a new asphalt pavement was laid, together with the replacement of the local surface and the repair of the pavements.
The development was completed with a gross budget of HUF 158 million, funded by local government funds.
