Bouncy castle, face painting, craft toys and a market for goods: just a few of the programme elements of Friday’s Vénkert May Day.
A rich program was offered to the residents of the area on Friday at the Vénkert May Day and family afternoon, in the square in front of the DEMKI Borsos-villa Community House. Prior to the event, a drawing competition was also announced for school children, and the winning artists received the prizes at the May Day event. Municipal Representative of the district Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa spoke at the family afternoon about how a continuously growing and cohesive community has developed in Vénkert in recent years, which has several foundations. For example, the community garden, which has been a source of close-to-nature relaxation and joy for the residents here for five years, and the Borsos-villa Community House. “I think that it is very important for the residents of the housing estate to have a community space where they can come out when the weather is nice and greet their neighbours and acquaintances. This is often not possible in individual apartments, but if there are such community spaces, as there are in the Vénkert, fortunately thanks to the renovations of the past period, this is possible here,” Lajos Barcsa. said.
