Local Public Transport Fares Will Not Increase
In a few days, passengers will also be able to use local public transport services (DKV) with county and national passes.
From January 1, 2026, the price of local public transport tickets and passes will remain unchanged, the local transport company DKV Debreceni Közlekedési Zrt. announced.
As previously reported, from 24 December passengers will be able to use county and national passes on local public transportation (DKV) routes. Passes issued by local public transportation (DKV) will also be accepted on MÁV (railway) and Volán (regional bus) services within Debrecen.
Local public transportation company, DKV, will be authorised to sell Hajdú-Bihar county passes, and MÁV Zrt. will also be able to sell the general monthly and mid‑month electronic passes of local public transportation (DKV).
From 24 December, DKV will begin selling Hajdú-Bihar county passes on the website www.dkvejegy.hu, at its ticket offices, and through its authorised customer service partners. On 24 December 2025, the ticket offices at Petőfi Square, Segner Square, and Doberdó Street will be open from 06:00 to 13:00.
During the holidays, there will be no other changes to the opening hours of the ticket offices.
Sales of 2026 monthly and annual passes for local public transportation (DKV) will begin on 28 December 2025 at the permanent ticket offices at Petőfi Square, Segner Square, and Doberdó Street, at authorised customer service points, on www.dkvejegy.hu, at smart stops, and at Magyar Posta post offices.
Sales of mid‑month passes for local public transportation (DKV) will continue uninterrupted.
The December 2025 monthly passes and 2025 annual passes will be valid for travel until the end of service on 7 January 2026 (Wednesday). From the start of service on 8 January 2026 (Thursday), 2025 passes will no longer be valid.
