Asphalt Works Continue at the Junction of Szoboszlói Road and Külsővásártér

The contractor carrying out the capacity expansion works at the junction of Szoboszlói Road and Külsővásártér junction has informed the Municipality of Debrecen that road surface renovation works will continue on 26 February 2026 (Thursday), following the morning peak period.

Asphalt milling works:

• On 26 and 27 February 2026 (Thursday and expectedly also Friday morning), in the city-bound lanes of Erzsébet Street (on the section between Boncz László Street and Miklós Street);
• On 27 February 2026 (Friday), in the vicinity of Mechwart Technikum and on the outer curves;
• On 28 February 2026 (Saturday), asphalt milling will take place at the junction of Miklós Street – Külsővásártér – Erzsébet Street due to light vehicle traffic.

The contractor will carry out the asphalt milling work between the morning and afternoon rush hours to minimise traffic disruptions.

Asphalting works – expected, subject to weather conditions:

• On 2 March 2026 (Monday), laying of the asphalt wearing course on Nyugati Street;
• On 3, 4 and 5 March 2026 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), laying of the asphalt layers on the city-bound side of Erzsébet Street.

Traffic control by traffic wardens is to be expected during asphalt cutting and asphalting works.

Due to the works, traffic congestion can be expected. Motorists are therefore requested, where possible, to avoid the affected streets and to follow the temporary road signs in place rather than their usual routes.
