Between 28 February and 1 March 2026, guests can meet the youngest new arrivals of the winter season in Hortobágy – this year’s foals, racka lambs, mangalica piglets, as well as day-old chicks, ducklings, goslings and young goats – guided by the herdsmen and animal keepers who care for them. The stables of the Mátai Stud, the sheepfolds of Szatmáritelek and the livestock barns of the Puszta Animal Park will open their gates to visitors.

The central venue of the event, and the departure and arrival point of the tours, will be the Tourinform Hortobágy building in Hortobágy. The Hortobágy Csárda, located in the centre of the village, will also open its doors, with traditional Gypsy music sounding within its walls.
