EVE Power Counts on Local Workforce in Debrecen Alongside Local Companies
EVE Power, which is building a high-tech battery factory in the North-Western Economic Zone, aims to cooperate with as many local companies as possible. The expansion of the BMW supplier’s corporate partnerships in Debrecen will be supported by a comprehensive cooperation agreement recently concluded between EVE Power Hungary Kft. and the county organisation of the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ).
Even in the current construction phase of its Debrecen investment, EVE Power is already working mainly with Hungarian companies. This clearly shows how important local partnerships are to the firm.
“Local companies are particularly important to us both during the construction and the production phases, and we would like to establish long-term, close relationships with them,” said Huanting Zhang, Managing Director of EVE Power Hungary Kft.
The cooperation between EVE Power and VOSZ, which is now beginning, is also advantageous for local businesses.
They can learn a great deal from the high-tech BMW supplier, and if they are able to meet its requirements as suppliers, they will be able to hold their own with any international multinational company, emphasised Károly Balogh, the county president of VOSZ.
“In our view, EVE is a good Chinese company that does everything it can to cooperate not only in technology but also in environmental awareness and with the companies operating in its surroundings,” he said.
Alongside local companies, EVE Power is also counting on local employees. According to the company’s plans, as production ramps up, the number of employees could reach around 700 by 2028.
