Aquaticum Outdoor Water Park Opens This Friday
The current heatwave will peak today, when temperatures could reach as high as 32 degrees Celsius, although no rainfall is expected.
According to the ambulance service, the exceptional heat has not yet placed any significant additional burden on emergency care services. However, call-outs were received for burn injuries caused by outdoor fires, as well as for road traffic accidents. “What really causes the biggest problem at times like this is people’s reduced ability to concentrate, which leads to an increase in road traffic accidents,” highlighted Ferenc Korcsmáros, Regional Director of the National Ambulance Service.
“A warm air mass is covering the country. As a result, we can continue to expect hot weather during the daytime on Wednesday. Then, in the second half of the day, a cold front will reach us from the north, causing temperatures to fall by a few degrees,” said meteorologist Roland Kuntár.
However, the cooler weather will not last long, and by the weekend it will once again be worth looking for activities near water. Summer heat has therefore arrived, and there is not much longer to wait for the opening of the pool season either. On Friday, 29 May, Aquaticum Strand will open its doors: 15 pools, water slides, a lazy river, and numerous additional programmes will await visitors throughout the summer.
