New Member Joins Debrecen Business Service Centres Roundtable
IT company Omikron has become the seventh member to join the professional partnership that aims to strengthen the city’s position in attracting high value-added, knowledge-based businesses.
Invited guests were given a tour of Omikron’s offices as the company officially joined the Debrecen Business Service Centers (DBSC) partnership.
Speaking about the expansion of the Business Service Centres roundtable, Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa emphasised that the city offers career opportunities where employees can use foreign languages, work with modern technologies, interact with international clients, and enjoy genuine professional development. “This sends a message to young people, university students, and pupils preparing to choose their careers that they do not necessarily have to move to Budapest or abroad in order to build an international-level career,” he said.
Since 2018, the Debrecen Business Service Centers initiative has been working to strengthen the city’s position in the competition for high value-added, knowledge-based companies. Prior to Omikron’s arrival, cooperation agreements had been established with six international companies. “These companies possess an enormous amount of accumulated expertise, and we would like to share that knowledge. We aim to strengthen knowledge-sharing, and one of our goals is to help small and medium-sized enterprises become involved. We want to provide them with development support that contributes to the growth of this sector in Hungary, because in the long run everyone benefits,” explained Róbert Hosszu, Managing Director of Emerson NI and representative of the DBSC.
Csaba Nagy, Managing Director of Omikron, said that attracting young talent and supporting the next generation of professionals are key priorities for the company. “Through joining DBSC, we would like to play an active role in helping young people, recent graduates, and future professionals become more familiar with the opportunities we offer. We want to showcase the areas where information technology, business thinking, and corporate operations intersect, so that young people gain a realistic understanding of these career paths,” he said.
It was also noted during the briefing that the expansion of the Business Service Centres partnership broadens the collective corporate expertise and professional resources available within the network, thereby contributing to the development and support of local talent.
