Development of Debrecen’s Street Lighting Network Continues
The Municipality of Debrecen will install 20 new street lighting columns and luminaires along a section of approximately 750 metres on Vállalkozók Road in Józsa. During the works, commencing on 9 June 2026, temporary local traffic restrictions will be in place. Road users are therefore requested to exercise increased caution when travelling through the area.
Construction works will begin on 9 June 2026 with the exposure of existing utility lines and the excavation of trial trenches. The erection of the street lighting columns using cranes is expected to take place on 11 and 12 June, followed by the installation of the overhead line and underground cable network between 15 and 19 June. The new street lighting network is expected to be commissioned by 30 June 2026.
Valued at approximately gross HUF 42 million, the development will be financed entirely from municipal funds. The investment will improve road safety along the affected section of the route.
Road users are requested to exercise increased caution on Vállalkozók Road during the works, as temporary local traffic restrictions may be introduced in the vicinity of crane operations.
