One of Debrecen’s most popular culinary events will once again fill the heart of the the Great Forest with flavours, aromas and memorable experiences from 12 to 14 June. This year’s theme is “Flavours of the World,” inviting visitors to discover authentic dishes from international cuisines, unique ingredients and fascinating culinary stories from around the globe.
The 2026 festival also marks a special occasion, as it celebrates the International Year of Pastoralists with flavours connected to pastoral culture showcased in both traditional and contemporary interpretations.
The high-quality culinary selection will feature, among others, the Michelin-starred Borkonyha, alongside renowned chefs including Eszter Palágyi, Ákos Sárközi, and Dutch master chef Roy.
Sunday’s programme will focus particularly on families, with workshops, children’s concerts, a dedicated children’s corner, a book grove organised in cooperation with BOOOK Publishing and the delights of an authentic French-style market.
Admission is free of charge for children under 12 and pensioners who present a valid pensioner ID card. The festival is also pet-friendly, meaning four-legged family members are welcome to attend. Holders of a Debrecen City Card can also enjoy a 10% discount on admission tickets. Visitors should note that the event will be entirely cashless. Payments on site can only be made using bank cards or FestiPay cards.
