According to information currently available to the Municipality of Debrecen, the foam fire suppression system at SEMCORP Hungary Kft.’s Debrecen plant was activated again during the night of June 26, 2026.

Municipal officials arrived at the scene immediately, where they requested information from the plant’s management. They also demanded urgent updates from the Hajdú-Bihar County Government Office and the Hajdú-Bihar County Disaster Management Directorate.

According to preliminary information from the municipality, a false alarm was triggered. As soon as official, comprehensive information regarding the circumstances and causes of the incident is received from the relevant authorities and the plant operator, the public will be informed in detail.
