Street Lighting Development Continues in Debrecen
Construction work began on 2 September on Jégvirág and Babarózsa Streets with the uncovering of existing utility lines and the excavation of exploratory trenches, followed by the installation of distribution cabinets and the connection of cable ends. The municipality announced that 18 new light fittings and lamp arms will be installed on the two streets.
Subject to weather conditions, this will be followed by:
- on 7 September, 3 new light fittings and lamp arms on Hegyköz Street,
- on 8 September, 2 on Bessenyei Street,
- on 9 September, 1 on Szappanfű Street,
- on 10 September, 6 on Zeller Street and Cikória Street,
- on 11 September, 5 on Törköly Street,
- on 14 September, 7 new light fittings and lamp arms on Zerge Street.
The light fittings will be installed on existing poles, while two new poles will be installed on Bessenyei Street and five on Zerge Street. This will make travelling along the road sections concerned safer. The street lighting development is being funded entirely by the municipality. Road users are asked to exercise increased caution at the above locations while the works are in progress.
In the first phase of the development of the street lighting network, a new network was installed in Debrecen-Józsa along Vállalkozók Road, covering a distance of approximately 750 metres. Twenty new poles and light fittings were installed on the street. During the second phase, 19 new light fittings and lamp arms were installed on Ezerjó Street in Debrecen-Józsa; 7 on Laura Street and Ligetszépe Street in Debrecen; 14 on Sándor Lane, József Lane and Kisállomás Street; 3 on Torzsás Street; and 16 in the Bánk area of Debrecen.
