DKV to Sell Paper-based Hungary and County Passes Starting October

From 1 October, DKV Zrt. will introduce the sale of paper-based Hungary and Hajdú-Bihar County passes printed on site at the company’s permanent and temporary ticket offices, as well as at its authorised customer service point, in addition to the electronic versions. Starting the same date, DKV’s own paper-based passes and period tickets will also be available in printed form at the company’s points of sale.

An important change is that the ID number will be printed on the pass when it is issued, so passengers must bring the relevant ID document with them when purchasing a pass, or provide its number. A pass or period ticket cannot be issued without an ID number.

When purchasing passes printed on site, passengers must provide the number of their identity card, passport or driving licence for a standard pass; only the identity card number is accepted for a pensioner pass; and the student card number must be provided when purchasing a student pass.

After Budapest, fare integration has also come into effect in Debrecen, where from 24 December 2025 local and interurban public transport mutually accept local, county, and national passes. As part of this, DKV now provides its services to passengers traveling with a Hajdú-Bihar County pass and the Hungary Pass, while MÁV–Volán Group allows the use of DKV passes on its interurban services operating within the administrative area of Debrecen.
