Traffic Restricted to One Lane Per Direction on Füredi Road Between Böszörményi Road and Nádor Street from 5 October
As planned, road renovation works on the urban section of Main Road 33 are continuing on Füredi Road in Debrecen, with construction works on the section between Böszörményi Road and Nádor Street entering a new phase on 5 October. Both lanes on the southern side (where Füredi Pub and bike shop are located) will be closed from 8:30 a.m. next Monday.
All traffic will be diverted to the lanes on the northern side, where two-way traffic will operate in one lane per direction. Public transport services will continue to operate without interruption, using temporary bus stops on the southern side and the existing bus stops on the northern side.
U-turn-style large-radius turns will be prohibited throughout the affected road section. This means that large-radius turns from Füredi Road onto Böszörményi Road (towards the fire station), from Füredi Road onto Sinai Miklós Street and Jerikó Street, and from Füredi Road onto Nádor Street at the Aldi supermarket will all be prohibited. At the latter location, right turns onto Dózsa György Street will also be prohibited.
In the area closed to traffic, the contractor will begin restoring and bringing stormwater drainage chambers up to standard, constructing the bus stops, and milling the existing asphalt surface. These works and the resulting traffic arrangements are expected to remain in place for approximately three weeks. The works will be carried out in a way that ensures traffic can continue to flow with as little disruption as possible.
The Municipality of Debrecen asks motorists to drive with increased caution on the affected road section and to follow the temporary traffic-management signs in place and thanks residents and road users for their understanding and patience during the works.
