DVSC to Appoint New Chief Executive
Set to join DVSC as its new chief executive on 1 December 2026, Fredrik Söderberg most recently served as chief executive of Swedish club AIK, which he joined in 2018. Under his leadership, AIK became the best-attended football club in Scandinavia, attracting an average of more than 30,000 spectators per home match in 2025 and setting a new record. He gained considerable experience in strengthening fan engagement, building business partnerships and developing the club’s brand, according to dvsc.hu.
The new chief executive will be responsible for leading the next phase of DVSC’s development, including brand reinforcement, further development of close ties with supporters and the Debrecen community, improvements to the matchday experience and identifcation of new business opportunities. He will also play an important role in shaping the club’s organisational structure and long-term strategy, helping DVSC continue to develop both on and off the pitch.
“We are delighted to welcome Fredrik to DVSC. He brings extensive experience from a major European football club and has demonstrated his ability to strengthen fan engagement and build a commercially successful football organisation. His achievements at AIK speak for themselves, particularly in terms of growing attendances and developing the club’s business. We have ambitious plans for DVSC, but it is equally important to us to build a sustainable club with solid foundations that can enjoy long-term success. Fredrik’s appointment is an important step on that journey, and I am confident that his experience and leadership skills will help take DVSC to the next level,” said DVSC owner Mark Stott.
“It is a tremendous honour to become chief executive of DVSC and join the Loki family. The club has a proud history, passionate supporters and enormous potential, and I am excited to play a part in its future. I share the owner’s long-term ambitions and believe there is a genuine opportunity to build further on the club’s strong foundations, engage even more supporters and continue developing DVSC both on and off the pitch. I look forward to meeting the club’s staff, supporters and the wider Debrecen community in person, and to working together to move the club forward,” Fredrik Söderberg said.
As part of the new management structure, current chief executive Balázs Makray will take on the role of general secretary, remaining a key member of DVSC’s leadership team. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of and experience with the club, he will oversee football-related administration, regulatory compliance, institutional and football association relations, as well as governance and operational frameworks.
The two appointments are intended to strengthen DVSC’s management structure and support the delivery of the club’s long-term objectives.
