Traffic Restrictions in Debrecen for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day

According to an announcement issued by Debrecen Police Headquarters on Tuesday, traffic restrictions will be in place at the following locations and times from 10:00 a.m. on 30 October until 10:00 p.m. on 1 November.

  • Benczúr Gyula Street: All vehicle traffic will be prohibited between Hadházi Road and Entrance II of the Public Cemetery, except for public transport vehicles, passenger taxis and vehicles authorised to sell flowers. The restriction also applies to people with reduced mobility and vehicles transporting them.
  • Ady Endre Avenue: The section between Nagyerdei Boulevard and Entrance II of the Public Cemetery will become one-way, with traffic permitted in the direction of Entrance II. Vehicles will be prohibited from entering Ady Endre Avenue from Nagyerdei Boulevard, except for public transport vehicles. The restriction also applies to people with reduced mobility and vehicles transporting them.
  • Benczúr Gyula Street: The section between Pallagi Road and Entrance II of the Public Cemetery will become one-way. Vehicles may enter from Pallagi Road and must leave via Ady Endre Avenue.
  • Trolleybus turning area: Vehicles will be prohibited from entering the trolleybus turning area opposite the junction of Hadházi Road and Benczúr Gyula Street, except for vehicles authorised to sell flowers.

No-stopping and no-parking restrictions

  • From 6:00 a.m. on 30 October until 10:00 p.m. on 1 November, stopping and parking will be prohibited on the odd-numbered side of Kurta Street, from Kassai Road to the junction with Hadházi Road. The prohibition also applies to the road verge.
  • From 6:00 a.m. on 30 October until 10:00 p.m. on 1 November, stopping will be prohibited on both sides of Benczúr Gyula Street between Hadházi Road and Entrance II of the Public Cemetery. On the section between Pallagi Road and Ady Endre Avenue, stopping will also be prohibited on the right-hand side in the direction of travel, as well as on the road verge.
  • From 6:00 a.m. on 30 October until 10:00 p.m. on 1 November, stopping and parking will be prohibited on both sides of Ady Endre Avenue between Nagyerdei Boulevard and Entrance II of the Public Cemetery. This restriction does not apply to parking on the road verge.
  • From 6:00 a.m. on 30 October until 10:00 p.m. on 1 November, stopping and parking will be prohibited on both sides of Main Road 4, between kilometre markers 228+278 and 228+912 of the Budapest–Debrecen–Záhony primary road. Stopping on the road verge will also be prohibited.
  • From 6:00 a.m. on 30 October until 10:00 p.m. on 1 November, stopping and parking will be prohibited on the even-numbered side of Hadházi Road. Stopping on the road verge will also be prohibited.
  • From 6:00 a.m. on 30 October until 10:00 p.m. on 1 November, stopping and parking will be prohibited on both sides of Futó Street, from the service road at the railway crossing to Apafája Street. Stopping on the road verge will also be prohibited.

Given that the section of Benczúr Gyula Street between Pallagi Road and Entrance III of the Public Cemetery is unpaved, the police may prohibit entry, stopping and parking in the event of extreme weather conditions, and may decide to alter the traffic arrangements. If traffic congestion occurs, officers may temporarily close the section of Benczúr Gyula Street between Pallagi Road and Entrance III.

The Hajdú-Bihar County Police Headquarters asks drivers to take extra care and comply with the revised traffic arrangements.
