Multifunctional building complex to be built on Faraktár Street

The Debrecen assembly has already discussed several times the idea of building a condominium on Faraktár Street, next to the Lidl supermarket, on the other side of Mák Street, and now the first plans have been published, and it has been revealed that the building complex will be called Orient Park.

György Kelemen, the owner and managing director of the investor Orient Park Ltd., told Dehir.hu that the legal possibilities for the area’s buildability have been opened up, and the building permit procedures are currently underway.

The construction of the multifunctional building complex on the 15,000 square metre site is scheduled to start in April. A 300-space underground car park will be built to meet the building’s entire needs, with an escalator leading to the 6,000 square metre commercial space on the ground floor. As György Kelemen said, there is a great demand for commercial units in the eastern part of the city, which is why they decided to build this unit.

There will be clothing shops, a drugstore, a small café and, according to advanced negotiations, a fast food restaurant.

To reassure residents in the area, he said, there will not be any nightclubs, discos or any other noisy establishments in Orient Park.

There will, however, be a petrol station, which is also in high demand in the eastern part of the city. The petrol station will be linked to a 24-hour shop selling groceries. The complex will also include 18 electric charging stations.

Please see visuals of the complex at this link.

The commercial block will be covered with a green roof, with 80 centimetres of soil, so that it will not only be covered with grass, but also with trees and bushes. The apartments will be east-west facing, so they will not face Faraktár Street but the green roof.

Orient Park will have three residential blocks, one nine-storey and two four-storey. The majority of the 140 apartments are designed to be 50 square metres with one and a half bedrooms, as they are seen to be the most in demand. György Kelemen also said that they tried to set the prices so that not only investors would have the opportunity to buy apartments there, but as many people as possible would be able to buy them who would like to live there.

If all goes according to plan, Orient Park will be built by the end of 2026.
