This weekend will be about children in Debrecen

There are plenty of great programmes waiting for families this weekend. We are offering a little help with this, we have collected some really exciting children’s and family programmes,”  Deputy Mayor Diána Széles shared on her social media page.

The offer also includes train rides, crafts, and library programmes.

Children’s Day programmes in Debrecen:

Saturday 24 May 2025 (Saturday)

9.00 a.m.- 2.00 p.m. The World is Whole With You” Sports Day Oláh Gábor Street Sports Complex

9.30 a.m. Children’s Day with Zsuzsi Forest Railway

  • The Zsuzsi train leaves at 09:30 a.m. from Ruyter Street station and returns at 12:30 p.m. from Hármashegyalja.

10.00 a.m. Tímárház

  • Family craft morning. Making leather bracelets. Registration required!

10.30 a.m. Méliusz library

  • Mónika Demeter: Fairy Tale Moments – Fairy Tale Storybook – Book presentation

3.30  p.m. For children under 6 years, from 16.00 for children over 6 years in the Méliusz library

  • Family animal-assisted story corner. Registration required!

3.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. Csapókert, Liget Square – Children and Family Day

  • In case of bad weather, the programme will be held on Saturday 31 May 2025 from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.

3.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. Újkert – Children’s Day on the square in front of the DEMKI-Újkert Community Centre

Sunday 25 May 2025

10.00 a.m. – 11.00 a.m.  MODEM – Extraordinary “Firkalak” Children’s Day (for children aged 6-10)

10.00 a.m. Szabó Magda Pódiumterem (Kossuth u. 1) – The Boots of Immortality. 

  • The story of a grandfather and a grandson, a family legendary story is brought to life by Vojtina.

10.00 a.m. Déri Museum – Déri Day

  • LEGO® community adventure in the unique world of Mihály Munkácsy

24-25 May 2025 (Saturday and Sunday)

10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. Agora Science Centre – Children’s Day weekend at Agora

10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.  Nagyerdei Culture Park 

  • On both days, families are welcome with continuous programmes.

10.30 a.m. Aquaticum Strand – Funland – Children’s weekend with Bubu at the Aquaticum

23-25 May 2025 (Friday-Sunday) –  Nagyerdei Stadion – Debrecen Drive, family recreation
